Team Estonia

TEAM ESTONIA

Lauri Tamm, Mari Hiiemäe, Anna Otsolainen

Introduction

Tell us about your team; who are you and where do you come from?

All members of team Estonia have the same background – we all have begun studing in the same department of sculpture in the local Estonian highscool in Tartu. The only difference has been timing – Lauri has been already a sculpting teacher when Mari started her studies and our youngest member Anna is still a sculpture student. Anna has lately changed a highscool and studing now in Latvia.

Team History

How long have you worked together? What are your team’s greatest achievements?

Everyone of us has made many solo projects and has participated in different sculpting events and workshops in Estonia and abroad as well.

The most „international guy“ of us is Lauri, who has participated in more than 10 different top level snow- and ice carving symposiums worldwide and has achieved two times the bronze medal in Breckenridge International Snow Sculpture  Championships and once the second prize in the International Ice Sculpture Festival in Latvia.

In recent years have we (Lauri, Mari and Anna) performed together as a Team Estonia. In 2016 we have represented Estonia in Breckenridge International Snow Sculpture Championships (USA) and 2017 in World Snow Festival in Switzerland.

About Snow Sculpting

How did you end up carving snow and what is best in snow sculpting?

Snowcarving gives you oportunity to make something huge during comparatively short time. Snow is so clean and white and the result will be gorgeous.

Besides of making sculpture, snowcarving gives a intensive possibility to practice a team work. If you have a good team – this time will be a wonderful experience.

Baltic Snow Call!?

What do you expect from Baltic Snow Call?

We expect to see a lot of creative people and a good company during all the carving week!!! This will be a great experience, indeed!
